"Learn to Lead Affordable Learning Initiatives on Your Campus"

Campus partners, deans, library directors, and/or designated library colleagues are among those invited to participate in one of two Open Textbook Network Training workshops, hosted by Affordable Learning PA, on September 25 and 26, at the Dixon Center, in Harrisburg, PA. Each workshop will run from 8:30am to 4:00pm in Workshop Room C, in the Administration Building. Parking is available in the underground parking lot.

The Affordable Learning PA project is now a consortium member of the Open Textbook Network. These training workshops by the experts at OTN will serve to form the foundation for creating a community of practice, centered around building OER learning content, for affordable learning in Pennsylvania and the surrounding region.

Registration is free, but we do ask you let us know if you have to cancel so we keep costs to a minimum. In each workshop, you can expect an environment of learning and sharing in areas such as:

  • Using tools and resources for open textbook programming
  • Strategies for addressing common challenges
  • Identifying obstacles to open textbook adoptions
  • Developing incentives for successful programs on your local campus
  • In-person networking opportunities and more
  • Agenda
We look forward to working very closely with libraries, to host a vibrant community of sharing expertise and open content. This project is made possible in part by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services as administered by the Pennsylvania Department of Education through the Office of Commonwealth Libraries, and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, Tom Wolf, Governor.
