Position Opening - Collection Strategist and User Experience Librarian, West Chester University

Join a vibrant campus community whose excellence is reflected in its diversity and student success. West Chester University (WCU) Libraries invite applications for a tenure-track Collection Strategist and User Experience Librarian to join our team of dedicated librarians. Librarians at WCU enjoy full faculty status, including a 9-month contract, faculty pay scale, and same tenure/promotion process as classroom faculty. As a faculty librarian, maintaining both a scholarly agenda and record of service is essential.

We hope to find a highly collaborative colleague to serve as our Collection Strategist and UX Librarian. This librarian will utilize data gathered from library systems and a range of university user communities to inform decision-making about the libraries’ collections, spaces, and services. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about user-centered and evidence-based collection management. The Collection Strategist and UX Librarian will work to develop cohesive collection development strategies that support both subject specific disciplines and interdisciplinary programs across campus. He or she will work closely with the Electronic Resources Librarian to ensure strategic collection development regardless of format. The Collection Strategist and UX Librarian will suggest innovations to better serve both our physical and virtual users, and collaborate across the libraries to implement those projects. We are hoping to embark on a major library renovation in the near future, so an analysis of and plan for our physical holdings will be an immediate priority.

West Chester University recently unveiled a new strategic plan, Pathways to Success, which focuses on student success as core to our university mission. WCU Libraries believe that we are a key player in supporting student success on campus. The Collection Strategist Librarian will contribute to this mission by helping us make our collections and spaces more responsive to the changing needs of our university community, especially our students.
