Position Opening - Director of Library Operations, Jefferson East Falls

The Director of Library Operations has broad responsibilities for the Paul J. Gutman Library on Jefferson’s East Falls campus. These include daily operations and planning of the Library’s public services, technical services, and management of the library staff. In addition, the Director leads the Library’s relations with the academic programs at the East Falls campus. He/she provides leadership and mentoring for the librarians and staff at East Falls, and works toward the continuous growth of the staff’s professional knowledge and skills The Director promotes internal communication and assists the University Librarian in the planning of the budget and prepares key reports.

Qualifications

  • Masters in Library or Information Science from an ALA-accredited school or equivalent graduate degree and experience in library leadership.
  • Five years in an academic library with concentration in public services and knowledge of library automation. Evidence of initiative and flexibility. Supervisory experience. Strong oral and written communications skills. Good public relations skills. Good managerial skills. Group organization and planning skills.
