PALCI Welcomes Gretchen Gueguen, Digital Projects & Communications Manager


We are excited to announce Gretchen Gueguen has joined the PALCI team as our new Digital Gretchen GueguenProjects & Communications Manager, effective today, July 1st. The Digital Projects & Communications Manager role is a full-time, 12-month staff appointment. Gretchen is charged with leading, managing and implementing a portfolio of PALCI's strategic digital library and community-based projects.

Gretchen Gueguen has been an archivist and librarian specializing in digital libraries and technology for the past 15 years. Her work has included managing data services for the Digital Public Library of America, creating a program for born-digital archives as Digital Archivist at the University of Virginia, leading digitization and repository-building efforts as Digital Collections Librarian for Joyner Library Digital Collections at East Carolina University, and supporting digital collections and research projects at the University of Maryland. Gretchen has recently provided digital library consulting services for Princeton University and Penn State University, and is currently the Project Manager for PALCI's CC-PLUS and Affordable Learning PA (ALPa) initiatives. She is also an adjunct professor for the Clarion University Department of Information and Library Science. Gretchen received her Master's in Library Science from the University of Maryland in 2005 and her bachelor's degree in English from Penn State University in 2001. She is a native of Kittanning, Pennsylvania and currently resides in Erie.

Gretchen will continue to serve on behalf of both the CC-PLUS and ALPa projects. She is excited to begin working with the wider PALCI community and build the infrastructure to ensure PALCI members are part of a well-connected and well-informed network.
